Career
After
house jobs, I did Paediatrics training at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children
and obtained DCH in 1973. From 1974 to 1976, I did two years medical
rotation at the Western Infirmary, Glasgow and obtained MRCP in 1975. I
left Glasgow in 1976 and came to Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In 1978
until 1980 I went to Hammersmith Hospital, London to do a two year fellowship
in Cardiology. In 1984, I was appointed Consultant Cardiologist at Rashid
Hospital in Dubai. My main research interest has been in acute coronary
syndromes and we have published a few papers on this subject. I have been
appointed the Chairman of the Research Committee for the emirate of Dubai.
I have also my own private clinic which is quite lucrative. My other
interest is in Real Estate and I have quite a few villas including an apartment
in the tallest building in the world (Burj Khalifa) and a villa on the Palm
shaped artificial island off Dubai coast. At present, I am building a
sea-side resort in the tropical island of Zanzibar and hopefully it should be
ready by the end of the year or early next year. I have also done some
charitable work and have built a small computer school in Zanzibar. |
