Career
After graduation I worked at the SouthernGeneral in Glasgow before entering general practice in Ibrox/Govan. I retired from the practice in 2007 since which time I have been working as a Research Fellow in the History of Medicine at the University of Glasgow and am currently Visiting Professor in the History of Medicine at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. This medical history career was made possible by the MPhil and PhD I did in medical law, ethics and history some twenty or so years ago.
Personal Details

Irene and I married in 1972 and we have four children, Eve, Tamar, Rachel and David and seven grandchildren. Eve is a tax accountant, Tamar is a speech and language therapist and Rachel is a project manager in a translation company. David works for the United Synagogue in London. Two children and four grandchildren live in Israel and the others are in London and we seem to spend our lives travelling across snow storms and volcanic ash clouds to visit them.
