Career
After training jobs in the Glasgow area, Anne and I moved to St Andrews in 1978 where I took up a post in general practice. I retired in 2007 and then spent two years working in a remote hospital in the extreme north of Cameroon under the auspices of VSO. Neither my medical nor french speaking skills advanced! Anne accompanied me there and she did real development work with local primary schools. |
Personal Details
We have four daughters, Nicola, Wendy and the twins Heather and Shona. Nature has a way of redressing balances and there are now four grandsons! Nicola works as a health visitor in Newport upon Tay, is married to Mark, a traffic policeman, and they have three boys - Jack, Tommy and Matthew. Wendy is a vet working in Roker, Sunderland. She is married to Martin, a paramedic, and they have one child, Jamie. Heather works in hotel management, currently accommodation manager at the Grant Arms, Grantown on Spey and Shona is a physiotherapist at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. Not content with looking after four young children and a domestically useless husband, Anne taught modern languages in Madras College before "retiring" and taking herself off to Dundee University to study Law.
