Career

I entered family practice in 1973 in Ottawa. As part of my community service I served as an alderman on Ottawa City Council and was a councillor on the council of the Regional Municipality of Ottawa-Carleton. I became a little bored with practice and went back to university part-time and completed a Master in Health Administration and a master in International Affairs before working in Qatar, Vietnam and Chad for almost a decade. Since 2005 we have been living in Victoria, BC and I continue to work.

Personal Details

On returning to Canada I met Barbara and we married 5 weeks later. We moved to Ottawa where Anne was born in 1974 and Andrew in 1975. Barb returned to midwifery when the children were old. Anne has lived in London for several years where she is a partner in a hedge fund. Andrew is now Press Secretary to our Prime Minister, Mr Stephen Harper.

Through the years my hobbies have been flying golf and watching my children soar.
