Career
House Jobs at Western and
RHSC, Medical Rotation at Western then Vocational GP Training in Paisley. Rest of
my career spent following my husband's successful progress in management.
We moved to Hertfordshire where I combined part time jobs in GP and
Medical Oncology while he worked in London. We then moved to Lingfield,
Surrey in 1983 where I managed to have three "belated gap years"
travelling all over the world with him on business and doing occasional
locums etc. when in UK. Became a 3/4 time GP partner in Lingfield in
1987 when he set up his own company. I left due to illness in 1998 but in
2000 became restless and to my surprise enjoyed working part time for
BUPA in the City (of London) where I met and treated many interesting people.
Left in 2007 and officially retired in August 2008. |
Personal Details
I married Chris, who did a BSc at
Glasgow, before my graduation and moved around as above. I was diagnosed
as having atypical rheumatoid arthritis in 1998 and did very well
until late 2006 when I became more unwell again. The initial drugs did not
work but 18 months ago I was started on one of the newest "Biologics" and
I am making good progress. Unfortunately my next course is in April so I will
be unable to attend the Reunion. We moved to Tenterden in Kent in 2002 and now
divide our time between our home in Kent, our flat on the River Thames in London
and our apartment on a golf course in Portugal. My ambition is to have
enough energy to renovate an Oast House nearby which we inherited from
Chris's father. We still like to travel as much as possible including a
visit to San Francisco at least once a year to see Chris's youngest
brother (big gap) who has two little boys under five and a new baby due in June! |
