Career
After house jobs and a self styled GP training course, I joined a five partner GP practice in Denny, Stirlingshire in 1975. I remained there until retirement in December 2008, having reached the dizzy heights of Senior Partner in 1990. I helped steer the practice through the various changes foisted upon us over the years, introduced advanced access which changed our approach to the appointment system. We added a 6th partner a couple of years ago, who turned out to be Brian Calder’s nephew! We achieved the Quality Practice Award on three occasions before my retirement. |
Personal Details
I married Gordon in 1978, I have 2 stepdaughters and we have 5 grandchildren. I am currently enjoying retirement and occupy myself with voluntary work on the Community Council and British Heart Foundation. Our leisure pursuits include the theatre, concerts(mainly folk but we are open to all genres of music), travelling (trying to fit as much as possible while we’re still fit enough) socialising with friends, and wining and dining. I do a bit of gentle gardening and of course now can play at being a housewife, something new to me! |
